Thanks Randy, for the new format with content capture details! For the below:
"00:02:07 Invesco QQQ Trust ($QQQ): Trapped in a multi-month sideways range. A break below the T1 zone on the 60-minute chart would open up further downside toward T2, T3, and T4 targets."

I think QQQ is now below T1, hope to get your view on this based on latest price actions or analysis. Thanks much!

I know it’s sooo frustrating the way the Soxx index is holding up, despite so many negatives in geo-politics, etc etc but it’s just a matter of time and I trust Randy’s analysis

@randy You're welcome.

I can throw together a simple working prototype software/scripts on Github. You'd need a virtual audio device (e.g., VB-Cable or VoiceMeeter on Windows) to duplicate your mic input: one feed goes to Camtasia as normal, the other gets captured by a small script (Python + sounddevice/pyaudio) that chunks it and feeds it to Whisper.

FWIW it doesn't take a huge GPU to run Whisper and it even has a fallback to CPU (though that's super sluggish as you would expect).

an 8GB card (RTX 3060 12GB, RTX 4060, or even a used RTX 2070/3070) comfortably runs faster-whisper with the medium or even large-v3 (int8) model with headroom for streaming buffers. If you want something lighter/cheaper, a 6GB card handles small/medium fine and will still give solid accuracy for near-real-time captions.

faster-whisper supports streaming-style incremental transcription reasonably well; whisper.cpp is another lightweight option if you want to avoid Python/CUDA setup entirely.

If so & if you plan to play it that way, the top of that flag (would help to see a little more downside, including a whipsaw break below & recovery back above my T1 target/support on the QQQ 60m chart, as that would provide the typical bull flag shape of a downward price channel).

As of now, we have, or had, a symmetrical triangle pattern that I highlighted on the QQQ daily chart, which recently broke down & backtested from below, so that could have been viewed as a bullish pennant continuation pattern (close cousin of the bull flag continuation pattern). However, the downside breakout, backtest, & rejection nullified that potential bullish pennant.

Regardless, as I've stated in recent videos, a breakout above the downtrend line off the highs, which is the downtrend that defined that pennant and/or the potential bull flag that you mentioned, would be a bullish technical event until & unless that breakout clearly fails.

As such, you can use that as a buy signal with a stop somewhat below the trendline (i.e- if the breakout fails), if you think that the breakout will stick & the rally will hit the measured target (i.e.- the lenght of the flagpole added to the *lowest point of the bull flag just before the breakout, again, assuming we get a lower low soon to form a proper flag). Here's an example of a bullish pennant.

*my preference on a bull flag, as some will add the flagpole length to the flag breakout level for the measured target.

If you run your own Whisper speech-to-text and text-to-speech model locally you could send your microphone input stream to your own Whisper model at the same time you're recording the video and this would provide near real-time transcription.

In reply to minaz.

Your feedback (and support of the site) is very much appreciated!

I even find these summaries quite useful myself. I can revisit the video recaps & weekly summaries for current or potential (pending) setups & developments, which in the past might have dropped off my radar (hence, a missed opportunity; LMT highlighted in today's video was an example of that as was the recent PGR long trade, where I should have just tightened up stops when T1 was hit, trailed those stops up & let it run to my initial T3, vs. closing the trade earlier at T1 & leaving that extra meat on the bone).

I'll also be able to look back & see which trade ideas or market developments didn't pan out & maybe be able to see what I missed, to not make that same mistake again.

Hindsight is 20/20, but the key to success in trading & investing is to learn from our mistakes, not repeat them. Thx again for your feedback!
