I feel your pain. Good luck. Puts might be a safer bet as you limit your losses also you could hedge your QQQ short by buying calls. I could see this market going much higher as it has broken from reality.

On QQQ, the 10 year chart has a very clear channel… we have skyrocketed out of the channel for the first time in 10 years… I did not close my shorts and I continue to sell what is working (gold, gbtc, …) because my only hope is to continue to raise my qqq short cost basis as I increase my position size…

I would guess the “who” is buying would be all of the retirement funds / mutual funds / 401k accounts. Auto withdraw from their paychecks and sent to the fund managers. Many of these funds, especially those that track the S&P, would purchase those leading stocks. Just a thought.
