See my reply to your previous comment above for a couple of stop/loss-mitigation strategies, if still short SOXX. Also, ARM reports AMC tonight & is starting to look very toppy, although its market cap is less than half of AMD's at $216B vs. $556B (so doesn't have as much of an impact on the semi sector, although I haven't checked ARM's weighting in SOXX, but that can be found on the ETF's website).

ARM earnings can go either way, of course, so a double-edged sword if you give SOXX any more room on the stop.

In reply to Mikeflegel.

The suggested stop on SOXX was a daily close above 479. SOXX closed at 482.73 yesterday, so stopped out at the close. Basically, if someone is using a closing basis for an entry (buy signal or short sell signal) or exit (stop-loss) on a trade, they can either go with that buy or sell signal if the stock or ETF is comfortably above/below that trigger heading into the final minute or so before the close ..or.. entry (or close) the trade in the after-hours trading session.

I missed AMD in the video I just posted today since I had it listed in the Trade Setup category & hadn't moved it over to the Active Trades category yet (hadn't gotten around to it & forgot to update in video since it wasn't moved yet).

For those who took it (it briefly dipped below the 60m trendline, triggering entry option #1, but never took out the alternative or add-on with a break below the 338.00 support level). That one will be stopped out today, as per the suggested stop of a daily close above 375.90 unless some insane reversal were to occur in the final half-hour of trading today.

On SOXX, if still short, one could either set a stop right now, GTC, above today's HOD & let it ride (best bet IMO, if didn't close out around the close yesterday) or just let it go & wait for that purple uptrend line to break or any other decent sell signal such as a candlestick reversal pattern.
