In reply to trade0039.

I've been way behind on updating/removing the old ones, from the trade ideas categories (Setups, Active Trades, etc..)

On SOXX, the case was made to short the recent bearish engulfing candlestick from Jan 25th with stop above the top of that candle (HOD for Jan 25th) as that would eliminate it from being a topping stick.

Not objective to short QQQ right now as we have zero sell signals (that I can see) but the next sell signal will still come on a solid break and/or close below that primary uptrend line off the Oct lows, even better if SPY also takes out its comparable TL off the Oct lows.

Best to wait for that high-probability sell signal as I can rule out the possibility of some type of blow-off top in QQQ that could take it higher before the turn comes. Plus, QQQ is only about 1.5% above that uptrend line right now so it just wouldn't be prudent not to wait for that level to get taken out vs. shorting now in anticipation of it.

Yes, 20-month EMA (and SMA) is a great long-term trend indicator. In hindsight, I should have given that more weighting once QQQ & SPY crossed & closed back above the 20-ema in March & while that remains on a buy signal (for long-term funds) above the 20 for now, QQQ & SPY were trading about the same distance above it leading up to the late 2021 top with nearly identical technical postures on the daily & weekly time frames when I first started laying out my (at the time) very aggressive downside/bear market targets for the market & key sectors like the semis.

Investors might opt to stay long until SPY & QQQ move below their 20-month MA but swing traders probably wouldn't want to ride down what would easily be a 20%+ drop from here before they are taken out on a monthly closing basis (rather swing traders would want to short that move down).

I have price alerts set to trigger if/when the uptrend lines off the Oct lows are taken out on QQQ, QQQE, $COMPQ, & SPY (RSP has already taken it out). That's when it will be time to position for a swing short on the $NDX IMO unless we get some other decent sell signal(s) before then.

Randy look like you removed some of your trade setup from rsotc site. I had few questions for you on that page.

Anyway, I wanted to ask what’s your stop loss level in SOXX?

Also is it objective to short now on Q’s??? Bcoz I have seen many times in the past you suggested its objective to Short before trendline breaks simply bcoz of RR ratios. As some day market may crash 10% over night and it won’t be objective level at that moment to short.

Any thoughts???

Also on previous videos I was talking about your 20 SMA on Monthly TF (You called it as IRA indicator). You never flipped your bias to Bullish once we had Monthly candle close above 20 SMA on SPY and QQQ.
