I look at your chart and I see it as a major resistance being at the pre covid high and retracing that uptrend line you have. Randy would say a solid break above this area would be a buy signal, nothing but bullish, an hourly candle close above that trendline, taken out with convection, etc.

NQ is looking like a rising wedge with negative divergence. Possibly more chop and sideways movement since the sentiment has changed for now to more bullish?

“With conviction” is somewhat subjective but typically means that QQQ, /NQ, SPY, etc.. need to clearly move above (or below) those resistance or support levels, not just a brief dip below (above) followed by a reversal back above (below) as whipsaws are more than common in this algo-driven market.

As I believe those are pretty significant levels, I would suspect a breakout above/below would be followed by impulsive buying/selling. That’s one thing I’ll be watching for if & when either of those resistance levels above or support levels below are taken out as the more impulsive the buying (or selling) following a breakout (or breakdown), the more likely the breakout will stick.

with the term “conviction” you mean crossover of 0.5% in a shirt timeframe or at least 1% or more?
