In reply to <a href="https://rightsideofthechart.com/qqq-price-targets-outlook-2/#comment-11581">tradeshark</a>.

Lightening up on market exposure in front of the weekend with the 2 extra days of overnight risk when volatility is high at times like this is usually a good idea.
Treasuries about flat today, slightly lower but the other flight-to-safety assets such as GLD, XLP & XLU all trading green despite the major indices (SPY, QQQ, DIA, IWM, etc.) all trading red right now.
In the video today, I had made mention about hedging my shorts with QQQ longs but should have added that I also have treasury bonds & XLP has potential hedges or at least a means of diversification as well. I think the key to profiting in 2018 will not only be market & sector timing, trading both long & short, but also diversification among various assets classes like stocks, bonds & commodities.

It feels to me today that there isn't much selling pressure even in the over night session with that double bottom it didn't pick up. My guess is we chop most the day and drift up into the close from ppl closing out shorts bc of headline risk over the weekend. Just my take

Nice spot. I didn't notice that before but yes, that scenario on the 30-minute chart* would resemble a small inverse head & shoulders bottoming pattern if it does play out that way.
* I had incorrectly referred to & labeled that first chart as a 15-minute chart instead of a 30-minute chart, which it is. I'll edit the post now to correct that error.
