Randy, maybe you could do a little self-reflection and try to think why your one and only charting approach hasn't worked for the last 5 months? Sure we may eventually get a 3% pull-back on QQQ, but from where who knows. But this approach isn't working now.

I'm sure you've gone through other long stretches like this. Is anything learned or do you just do the same thing over and over? It's seems a bit lazy to just do one charting approach which only occasionally works.

Maybe it’s a easy as size: look at micro-caps and mid-caps (IWC,MDY), both looking much like IWM making a solid A-B-C up-move out of a long base. It looks like this bull-market is finally beginning to encompass the whole market.

Indeed, this is what I’m concerned about, as well. Rotation into stocks and sectors that have lagged, even within the QQQ (see AMZN and GOOGL up today while AAPL, MSFT, NVDA are down), might keep the indexes elevated. Perhaps finding good king opportunities among the laggards, or pairs trades (+IWM/-QQQ) would be a more constructive approach as this lopsided bull market becomes better established.

I mentioned this in the chatroom and will throw it out in here as well. RTY is popping today, as is XLF. This is the big question right now. Will the stocks / indices that have lagged start to become the leaders? Things to watch are the Russell, XLF, XLB, XLV, and XLI. Defensive sectors like XLU and XLP won’t tell us much either way.

NQ chart 2-3 weeks leading up to quad witchings - starting after the 2020 COVID low.

• Sideways = 7 times

• Up = 3 times

• Down = 2 times

https://rightsideofthechart.com/wp-content/uploads/bpfb/2910_0-59648000-1686063474_quad-4.png

My takeaway from this exercise is we generally land around the same spot we were three weeks prior to the quad witching. Sometimes slightly higher or lower but the trend is mostly sideways.

So the most optimistic scenario for downside into next week would be gentle moves back down into the 14,000 area. And it would have to be gentle because we can't wake up the VIX before that June VX contract expires on Wednesday the 21st.

Sticking to day scalps myself. I don't like this timing to sit short.
