you got lucky, i trade futures on a different platform than i chart, when i realized i was stopped out i jumped back in and caught the tail end, still pocketed 450 though, expensive lesson learned

This is the type of thing you see at market tops. What’s different is the Trump man is in charge. He’s just so and so but he’s ours so and so.

Yep! That’s the “gotcha” with hard stops. MM scan for those and hit em before the next leg up/down (in your favor). I’ll be honest, I got super lucky today because for once in years I put a hard stop in the system to close out my long. A few minutes after submitted the stop order is when the news came out and the QQQ plunged briefly below my stop out number by a few cents. I guess it all happened so quickly and/or Lightspeed brokerage was not fast enough to detect my stop was hit and so my stop order was never fulfilled!

I rode that huge rip up. Pocketed about $1400 from that rip. But due to my thrashing day trading trades I’m only up about $750 right now. I’m calling it a day before I lose it all!

I lost $2k on Monday and $3k yesterday… So not at all recouped my loses. But this is a step in the right direction.

Upon further review of the charts, this is not a bad time at all to begin scaling back into longer-term swing short positions for the next leg down. Again, my preference would be to start an initial/partial position, adding over the next week or so and/or up to but not beyond the potential max. bounce targets that I’ve shared in recent videos.

This rally could very well prove to be very short lived & has already met the bulk of my expectations. As soon as investors stop high-fiving the tariff pause, they will turn their focus back to the likelihood of an upcoming recession soon, & what that will do to the stock market.

While I normally don’t let the market & my positions keep me up at night, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t checking the futures on my phone & even making some occasional trades during the off-hours over the past week or so.
As you said, it is more about capitalizing on opportunities as well as managing risk in this uber-fast moving market. You snooze, you lose…
