I put a much higher weighting on the technicals & outlook for the stock indexes than I do on the technicals for the $VIX or TVIX. Basically, if QQQ, SPY, XLK, etc.. all clearly take out their overhead resistance levels & it doesn’t prove to be just a temporary stop-raid/false breakout, then TVIX will likely continue to fall as the fear-trade continues to deflate. Should the stock market & tech sector fail to take back these key resistance levels & start another leg down soon, then TVIX would likely reverse off the 17.45 support level & start to rally up toward the next price target(s).

However, to help minimize the odds that will prove to be a whipsaw sell signal, ideally I want to see a solid 60-minute candlestick close below both trendlines as well as 60-min zero-line crossovers finalized on a 60-min closing basis.
