Well, to the casual onlooker your weekly chart would suggest a convincing and impulsive breakout above a descending channel which began with an epic green engulfing candle all taking place inside a larger bullish channel. So as long as World’s hottest tech stock that’s at the epicenter of the Galaxy’s newest intergenerational tech advancement (AI) somehow stumbles into a massive Black Hole that nobody saw coming, and I mean absolutely nobody, then it’s easy to see how this is just an extended whipsaw and it’s time to short this crazy market and ride this avalanche to the coming promised land of all time lows! This would be the Perma-Bear preferred scenario! Wouldn’t you agree your chart screams sell, sell, sell! Where’s my yellow marker, I need to add in some arrows pointing to my house in the South Pole! That cozy little igloo on the South Side of the Chart!

Just hedged my short QQQ position with TQQQ so the bleeding has stopped for now … not sure about a “Happy” Thanksgiving but surely a less “Stressed” Thanksgiving … I expect a weak Black Friday retail sales which will most likely be spun as a lower interest rate event being closer rather than further away, thus the leading catalyst for NQ ATH rally into the New Year … so I guess the “Shelter in Place” order for shorts is our current status … what’s new?

This reminds me a lot of when the Covid crash happened and you kept saying it was having a bear market bounce. Then it just kept going up to new highs.
In reply to <a href="https://rightsideofthechart.com/pullback-in-treasury-bonds-likely/#comment-29834">Alan</a>.

Please forgive me for not being all-seeing & letting my crystal ball fog up earlier this morning...lol. I posted a 15-minute chart of /NQ right after publishing this post with some "micro-levels" for active traders, showing that /NQ was currently just above the 15820 support level and that level would have to be taken out to trigger the first sell signal & open the door for a move down to the first target (15612ish). /NQ never broke that support & have a very minor bounce off it & closed the day back just above it so a level/breakdown to watch for again next week. Here the link to that comment from this thread & the updated 15m chart below.

I wouldn't say the $VIX is getting slammed, more like drifting lower at this point, just like SPY is drifting higher, putting in an ever-so-slightly marginal & still divergent high today. ($VIX is the volatility index based on the S&P 500). Here are the 60-minute charts of both, with the positive divergences on $VIX mirroring the negative divergences on SPY. A solid break below that <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='An uptrend occurs when a security or index is making a series of higher highs & higher lows.'>uptrend</abbr> line on SPY should spark a rally in $VIX next week.

Absolute (on both): KR is at support (very solid support) and support is support until & unless broken. As such, as case can certainly be made to go long here with stops somewhat below.

Personally, I'm going to pass on this one, at least for now but here are my daily & weekly charts (weekly shows another key <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='1) A bounce/pullback off support/resistance and/or a temporary consolidation around that level following a well-established trend leading up to that point. 2) A reaction low or high is a distinct point where the price of a security changed direction.'>reaction</abbr> high on this support line back in 2015 to help validate it).

I then added that comment that I thought I sent it yesterday & published it. Now that you mention it I can see the email notification wasn't sent out, probably due to a time-out issue (from that post sitting in edit mode overnight).

Thx for mentioning, I'll send out an email today. That post contained mostly or all big-picture/long-term analysis without much, if any, very timely info so should be a good time to watch over the weekend, especially being so long.

these was positive divergence on the NQ at 11PM EST on the 5 minute. why didn't you share that? you always take the short view verus the long view? the market has been up 1/2 % since then so could have made hundreds of dollars waiting. TLT bounced of the trendline so no reason to short. I sold my TLT but that was a bad idea. left money on the table... Now NQ is at resistance at 15930. wouldn't be surprised if it breaks out after some consolidation.

Can you touch on $VIX status again, on the next market update ? Keeps getting slammed but on less momentum. As I’m currently holding, wondering if is the best position to take even on a bearish scenario.
Thanks

You're right, Randy. NATGAS all time low is around $1.60-$2.00.
I was referring to the natgas etf UNG all time low $5.87.

I agree, WEAT still has big divergences building on the daily chart but just can't see to catch or hold a bid. I replied to another thread this morning that if I were to rate it like an analyst (buy, sell or hold), I would issue a HOLD rating on WEAT at this time.

In reply to <a href="https://rightsideofthechart.com/pullback-in-treasury-bonds-likely/#comment-29824">KevinK</a>.

$NATGAS recently started moving off the lower-end of it historical range which is 'around' $2.00 with a few extreme & brief spikes down to around 1.50 so no set floor but still closer to the lower-end of its range. UNG still needs to take out <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='Second Profit Target'>T2</abbr> on my daily chart (top of 2023 trading range) for natty to run.
