I think what a lot of people are forgetting is the Fed will be releasing an updated Dot Plot. First time since December. Imo, 25bps is almost a sure thing. The wild card is the Dot Plot. If they re-raise the Terminal Rate again, that’s going to send shock waves into the market. If they lower the Terminal Rate, then that would be bullish. That’s pretty much the only bullish scenario I can see this time around. Granted, if they didn’t raise, we would more than likely have an epic bull trap pump before the market realizes no hike = bearish AF.

Market would likely head lower on 0bps / no hike. Could get an initial reaction spike but Powell backing off of rates would signal there is a lot more concern about the banking situation than initially anticipated. It would take A LOT for Powell to back down and admit to making a mistake. That’s why 0bps is longer-term bearish.
