Yep. I just looked back at price history for boil. I has reverse split so many times that the all time high is $39,760.

I was in XIV back in the day inverse VIX. It was distorting the market and blew up. I lost 90% of my position over night .

These ETFs are not the commodity. Natural Gas will always be around bout BOIL/UNG maybe not.

There’s a very good chance that BOIL will either reverse split (1:20 or 1:100) or will be retired before long. It’s impossible to hold a position in an asset like BOIL that is constantly rolling front month futures contracts. There will always be massive slippage and degradation in the ETF. And UNG is no different in that respect. Remember what Randy says about leveraged ETFs: they can be great in a strong trending market, otherwise they will always lose money over the long term. Have you ever thought of trading KOLD, the inverse of BOIL, instead? It’s up 600% since December, proving that leveraged ETFs really can outperform when the trend is strong.

I’m noticing a similar “<abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='A downtrend occurs when a security or index is making a series of lower lows & lower highs.'>downtrend</abbr>” line in /ES that has been hit today. Also noticing that the same downtrend line may also be interpreted as the upper edge of a bullflag by many traders. AAPL also has that bullflag look, and has already broken out to the upside today. Crossing my fingers that AAPL’s strength ends up a bear-trap, otherwise last week’s weakness may have been just a pullback in a healthy new bull market.

There is a diff between adding shorts to 401ks and adding shorts with 401ks :-)

This <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='1) A bounce/pullback off support/resistance and/or a temporary consolidation around that level following a well-established trend leading up to that point. 2) A reaction low or high is a distinct point where the price of a security changed direction.'>reaction</abbr> sounds like your conviction is high. Maybe as high as you get and you're usually right. Other than the down trend line is there anything else with regard to treversal you see. Thanks
