As I’m sure you’re aware, earnings on a big company like Nvidia with a history of big post earnings moves, can go either way, likely take in the market and semiconductor sector with.

As such holding a 3x leveraged ETF in one of the most volatile sectors, like SOXS, entails a high degree of risk and there’s a good chance you’ll either be very happy or very unhappy, depending on which way it goes.

With that being said, the semiconductor sector ETFs, SOXX & XSD, along with the tech heavy QQQ triggered what I believe to be significant sell signals on Friday when they took out those March 30th trend lines. As such I think both the semis, the market, and Nvidia are likely headed lower in the coming weeks to months, despite any knee-jerk reaction following NVDA earnings. JMHO.

Again, every trader investor needs to manage their positions & total exposure to anyone’s stock or sector according to their own risk tolerance & outlook for that particular trade.

I took about a half-dozen or so of the stocks in the packaged foods sector that I highlighted across a few long-term accts that I don’t log into every day like my trading acct, so not sure, but pretty sure I didn’t take HSY.

Looking at the chart now, it’s not one of my favorites & is currently struggling with its 200-day EMA & SMA but still above that uptrend line off the early 2025 lows. Again, not my favorite.

PGR still looks constructive & closed above the upper-most (BOD) downtrend line today & I still think it looks like one of the better picks in the P&C insurance sector, although there seems to be something going on there when I look at many of the other P&C & other lines of insurance stocks. Maybe the private credit/private equity ponzi scheme of mark-to-fantasy BS pricing & underlying credit deterioration finally coming home to roost (insurance co’s & pensions have loaded up on that crap in recent yrs).

Again, that big bullish falling wedge on the daily which PGR has just broken out of is bullish until & unless the breakout clearly fails.

Collectively, I still think the charts on the half-dozen or so picks I highlighted as longs in the Packaged Foods sector appear to be setting up for a trend change/rally.

BYND is in that group, although a bit of an outlier since it is the only one that’s a penny stock, which makes it much riskier, including but not limited to the risk of a delisting (for trading below 1.00 for too long, share price dilution, or maybe even a bankruptcy filing).

Stops on that one would depend on one’s average entry price and price target(s). Assuming one took it at the buy trigger of a break above 0.82 & didn’t book partial or full profits when T2 was hit (and exceeded) in the pre-market session on April 21st for an 81% profit, but was holding out for T3 n(+172% gain,if hit), then a very favorable R/R of 5:1 would allow for a 34% loss down to around the 0.55 level.

However, I wouldn’t give it that much rope; rather, I think BYND offers an objective long entry or add-on down to but not below the 0.69 support level, with a max. stop not too far below it (around 0.65, ideally on a closing basis, unless the stock is melting down at the time).

Again, stops are always commensurate to one’s unique entry price(s) and profit target(s), using a favorable R/R that aligns with their unique risk tolerance & trading style.

Most importantly with BYND, as a penny stock, is a substantial downward position-size adjustment to account for the above-average gain & loss potential.

@Randy, did you take the HSY Trade? Seems to be slowing moving up. Also, what is your thoughts on PGR?
