I still very much like & am short NVDA. The profit potential to my final target (T4), if hit, is about 70% lower. As such, a very favorable R/R of 5:1 would allow for a 14% stop-loss.

It is nearly impossible to successfully position for long-term swing or trend trades in inherently volatile stocks with above-average price swings/trend moves without allowing for wider stops that are relative to the outsized profit potential.

As I always say, if someone doesn't know why they are or should be in a trade and/or they don't have a decent degree of confidence it will play out, no reason to take it.

VERV is an aggressive trade, IMO. A smaller-than-usual position is prudent, IMO. That helps to mitigate the risk portion of the above-average risk & reward potential on this trade. Plus, smaller positions are helpful with volatile trades like this since they help to allow for the use of wider stops, which are usually needed to avoid getting stopped out in the big gyrations in these type of trades. Best of luck going forward!

In reply to Bernadette.

Sure. Here's my weekly chart of NOG. I don't have a very strong opinion on the stock but can say that it (relatively) recently broke out above the primary downtrend line in 2024 & just recently made a successful backtest & rally off that trendline from above as well as the intersecting 21.74ish price support.

The horizontal lines mark key support & resistance levels (potential price targets) so at this time, the stock is coming up on the 34.84ish resistance which also comes in with the 40-week simple & exponential moving averages. Note how those key MA's (comparable to the 200-day MA's) have acted as support on pullbacks during bull trends & resistance during downtrends.

As such, a solid break & weekly close above both the 40-week MA's as well as the 35ish price resistance & especially the 45.10ish resistance above it would be longer-term bullish IMO.

Likewise, a solid break below the 21.74ish support as well as a drop back below the trendline would have intermediate to longer-term bearish implications IMO.

The futures charts always show the "round the clock" trades while the individual stock & ETF charts (e.g.- UNG, QQQ, etc..) will typically show the pre & post-market trades if the screenshot was taken outside the regular trading session. If so, the candlesticks for the pre or post-market trades will be white, as in the UNG 60-minute chart above.
