@rsotc just found out there is a 45 day export license review. We’re screwed and so is everyone else. We have to find another source or pray the tariffs get resolved soon

When are the rare earth minerals expected to start flowing from Ukraine from the deal finally signed just last week? … And if these REM’s are strategic to our National Defense couldn’t the Federal Government under some declared State of Emergency require Blue states to open their known REM reserves to mining?

I should have been more clear in my statement. There isn’t a hard ban, just new requirement that in order to export, you need to have a license. And guess who isn’t issuing licenses???

We have applied for a license and haven’t heard anything back or been given a timeline when we could get a license.

Either way, it’s 6wks on a boat from China. At the very least, we will pay huge expedite fees if we are granted a license because this new licensing rule has been in effect for about 2 weeks.

Thx for sharing that. I wasn’t aware of China’s ban on rare earth exports as that “should” be huge, yet the market, & even the non-Chinese (mostly Canadian, that I can see at quick glance) rare earth companies and even the Rare Earth Metals ETF (REMX) isn’t responding at all to the ban.

Odd, cause it seems legit from a quick google search yet the ban doesn’t seem to quickly pop up on any of the legit/mainstream business media outlets, rather a bunch of secondary & tertiary news sources. Hmmm. going to dig a little deeper into this one to see if there’s a trading opp, long or short. Thx for sharing & keep us posted.

My company will run out of components by the end of June. We can either find and use North American sources at about 4x the Chinese price (competing against everyone else in the world who needs the metals in magnets) or production will stop.

There really isn’t enough time to find a new supplier, negotiate pricing, get tooling made to make the magnets in the shape we need, test them, and then use in production.

There needs to be a deal quickly, or the gears of the economy will really start binding up.
