Thanks, I mainly trade indicies or ETFs. Don’t want to risk some individual stock tanking or soaring 20% on some after-hours announcement.

I’d have to review the charts of the 30 components of the Dow to give you my opinion on it but I can say that I don’t trade the Dow since is is so diversified among various sectors that some of the stocks are are usually going up or down to offset the rest of the 30. Also, I think that tech, particularly big tech & semis offer some of the best R/R on the short side right now, hence a preference for shorting the Q’s & semis, but not fully positions just yet.

Randy, If you check your history, you will see that apple On average misses ernie’s once a year. Apple is overdue to miss one.

Dow aka DIA is now on it’s 10th consecutive up day. You think worth taking a shot short here?

As I often say: If patience (in life) is a virtue, it is an absolute MUST in trading (and investing).

No guarantees that this market is going much lower anytime soon, although that’s my view. But if it does, it is likely to only go “so far, so fast” before the bulk of the big tech stocks report over the next couple of weeks (plus the FOMC meeting next week).

Again, my best guess is that we are likely to see nervous profit taking on the big techs so that will likely pull the indexes down over the next week or so but the any really big move isn’t likely to come until after AAPL wraps it up on Aug 3rd.
