I completely agree Jeff. When I saw the significant rally off of poor data I had one thought: “MANIA”. There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to anything the market does right now.

Better be nimble on those swing shorts…The “buy the dippers” are alive and well and continue to maul the bears.
Still WAY TOO MANY traders out there anxious to short at the smallest pullback.

The difficulty is deciphering the longer-term picture. Please excuse my snide comment earlier, as I am speaking not only to you and RSOTC members, but to the majority of market participants in general. August was charactarized by a renewed fear of higher interest rates for longer, as US economic growth remains stronger than expected, and the US Treasury feels confident in issuing long-term bonds into such strength. Suddenly today we see weaker economic reports in the form of JOLTs job openings and CB Consumer Confidence, indicating a turn toward slower growth, and the market rallies as if there is renewed hope for a recession, as if a recession were actually bullish. I look forward to the day when good news is good news and bad news is bad news, but that day may still be a long ways off.
