Well, he's for green energy but as I recently covered, most of all of that was already priced into the solars leading up to the elections as the odds & polls had consistently priced in a Biden win for months. I mentioned energy (XLE) as my favorite of the 11 sectors in the SPX, stating that it would likely run hard on a Trump win but the chart was so constructive that it could also run on a Biden win. Still my top pick in the SPX sectors but gapped up over 14% today on a breakout of that bullish falling wedge on the daily chart so too much to chase today. Watching for an objective entry, ideally on a pullback, if we get one.

Thx, looks like it ran when that TL was popped. Odd disparity between /ES & /NQ earlier today & into this morning so best to keep things light or stay nimble if trading today (hit & run).

I just looked as XAUUSD on tradingview as well as /GC (gold futures) on IB. Either way, a very big drop that has I can see that big red candle on /GC, gold futures. That huge reversal (which has most likely hit your stop) has taken gold back down into that 120-min triangle pattern which it recently broke out above, thereby resulting in a failed breakout. /GC is now at the bottom of the triangle (trendline support) where a tradable bounce is likely although overall, the failed breakout is bearish.
As I had cautioned in the last update on gold towards the end of last week, $EUR/USD is still trading at that very significant downtrend line resistance so taking the breakout in gold last week ran an increased risk of the breakout failing until & unless $EUR/USD make a solid breakout with a weekly candle. Here's my 120-min chart of /GC with a potential bounce trade, allowing for a brief momo-fueled overshoot so stops somewhat below that lower TL, ideally on a 60 or 120m closing basis.

I work hard to keep my political views (and those of others) off this site unless those comments relate directly to the potential impact on the markets, a particular sector, or some other aspect of a trade.
With that being said, I happen to believe there likely was significant voter fraud but my suspicions, right or wrong, as well as anyone else's, are most likely irrelevant as far as where the market or even the election goes from here. I don't closely follow what's going on there, only the big headlines where the Trump administration is challenging the vote count in many states. Yes, there will be (are) lawsuits & recounts but from what I understand, those things can take quite a while & at the end of the day, I just don't see the final election results changing no matter what happens, maybe just changes in the vote-counting process going forward. As such, that whole 'voter fraud' thing is likely to just be noise for the next few months, noised that gradually dissipates & eventually goes away with no change to the outcome of the election. JMHO, of course, as I am FAR from a political expert.
P.S.- Should that "noise" somehow get loud enough to affect the markets, then TA will be our best guide as to how to navigate it. As fo now, this is that post-election 'noise' that I've been speaking about for weeks (referring to the sharp moves recently) and I don't think it's over yet, nor do I expect that the big moves will only be one-sided as they've been over the past few sessions.

Trade like Biden will get sworn in but as the few “computer glitches” in the voter counts go from a
a trickle to a tsunami this week I plan to keep my TQQQ stops very tight! Anyone who counts Trump out before the Media sales job on this election is actually certified by the Electoral College vote proceeds at their own peril! Right now I believe it’s better then 50/50 Trump gets a second term! ... Honestly, has anyone really wanted their 78 year old Grandfather with obvious dementia to run the World’s most powerful Country in History??? ... NOT

Randy, Can you please have a look at Gold futures XAUUSD on the fxcm data provider, not Oanda. This can be found w the tradingview charting. Anyway, there was a massive red sell off candle at the close. This could be that one exchanges misprint, or I could be liquidated instantly come Sunday night. Do you believe this to be a real and possible after market liquidity dump?
