In reply to Roth09. I had traded VXX for over a year. Then about +/- 6 months ago the price glitched and printed extreme pricing on both options and the ETN. If memory serves me, the day it happened was an uneventful trading day. I had to unwind my positions at crazy prices for a loss. I haven't traded it since then, so I don't know if the product has settled down. Just something to be aware of. If you ever do decide to trade futures, there is a micro that doesn't raise your blood pressure as the price moves. It's /VXM. Hope this helps.

Question on trading the VIX. I don’t trade futures, so I’ve been using VXX to trade to the upside. I read it’s basically like an option and degrades over time. It’s worked so far for me. Thoughts?
