(Bloomberg) –U.S. junk bonds rallied the most since 1998 after the Federal Reserve’s historic move to begin buying some of the speculative-grade corporate debt.

No student loan payments for 6 months either. This should end well

The Fed have taken the crazy decision to announce they will buy junk bonds ahead of earnings season. Many ratings downgrades to come.

There is no limit on the amount of bonds the fed buys or for how long as best I can determine. Japan and the European Union are worse financially on a relative basis and the bond buying by both has held up those bond markets both government and corporate. So I am neutral on LQD unless it gets real ugly. Feds may close bankruptcy court, just joking.
