This video will start at coverage of IPI from the bullish falling wedge/downtrend line breakout back in May of 2025. I had already been bullish on the sector & IPI, & you can see in that video how I will modify & add targets to long-term trades I like. The 47ish target (modified slightly higher at some point since then) and my final target (T6 at 57.36) were on that chart covered back then, as I was calling & positioning for a bottom in the sector (end of bear market) with a new bull market to come):

Great question & one I address in videos from time to time. No, I don’t take every trade idea I share on the site for various reasons. At times, I might trade my top picks in a specific sector instead of the sector ETF as a trade idea (e.g., my top 5-10 mining stocks instead of GDX). Other times, I will pass along an objective trade setup that might not align with my current outlook for that particular security or sector (say I’m bearish but as I know I will often be wrong…and at the same time some members might be bullish on that sector & looking for trade ideas). Other times, I might already have my “fill” with exposure to a particular sector, such as tech or the semis, & therefore, I might not take a new semiconductor trade idea I pass along if I already have as much exposure to the sector that I want.

IPI is a good example of why there might be “extra” trades listed in the active trades (long or short) categories. Quite often, when I come across a sector that I’m bullish or bearish on, especially when that niche sector doesn’t have an ETF specifically holding those stocks, such as the agricultural inputs sector that IPI belongs to, I will do videos highlighting most or all of the stock in the sector, and share which one’s I like, which ones I don’t like, & which ones I REALLY like, at that time, and then again that will shift as time goes on & I continue to cover the sector (e.g.- click in the IPI ticker tag below & you will see a dozen or more trade ideas video covering that sector & the individual ag inputs for the past couple of years since there were bottoming… also listing multiple objective entry, exit, & re-entry points.

Hi Randy. To confirm, the 130% would have been if held from May 8, 2025?
This is more of a account managment question, but I notice there are currently 48 active longs and 40 active shorts. Do you actually take all of these trades, and have all 88 positions? If not, how do you decide which ones to take and which ones to pass up?

Someone mentioned TILL here recently, which is a non-K1 ETF (all the better, as commodity tracking ETPs are usually ETNs, which issue K1’s). TILL holds roughly equal weights of corn, wheat, soybeans, & sugar.. all of which I am intermediate & near-term bullish on.

DBA is a more broadly diversified agricultural commodity ETF so less volatility than TILL due to the diversity/lack of concentration in the grains but will likely underperform IF the grains outperform the general ag commodities.

Most of the others, such as DBC and many of the other commodity tracking ETFs & ETNs that track general commodities indexes, are top-heavy on energy (crude & nat gas) so expect a lot more volatility there, especially when the shipping lanes in the Middle East finally are flowing freely once again.
