Other than the rare periods where the stock market is in melt-down mode, the gold mining stocks will typically follow gold (sometimes they get sold down in stock market selloffs as unlike gold & silver, they are equities). AUY has been very strong with nice relatively strength vs. the sector & breaking out to multi-year highs today so looking good as long as the breakouts in gold & silver stick.
I plan to review the charts of the miners asap & will likely cover AUY when I post my analysis and/or any trade ideas.
