Generally speaking, a hell of a lot better than just about most stocks. Of course, the grains have little to no correlation to the stock market & as such, it really depends on how their technicals are at the time. As of now, the grains still have constructive long to intermediate-term charts despite the near-term softness (down to sideways-ish price action in recent months.

Although far from an "all-in" movement for the grains, I still think the charts look "okay" for a starter position or way to diversify a long-term investment portfolio, adding to them if & when they start taking out some of the overhead resistance levels & demonstrating some more bullish price action.

How do grains hold up in a market downturn? I'm in some wheat futures and wondering if I should exit before a broader market sell off.
