In reply to HermonMunster.

Upside is limited on cattle (live & feeder) futures IMO. Not only based on the technicals (parabolic/blow-off top) but from a fundamental perspective, simple demand destruction due to the soaring cost of beef.

It’s been well documented that the “have’s” (wealthy consumers who are benefiting from the stock market rally & surging home prices) have been offsetting the declines in consumer spending from the have-nots. While those well off can buy another 85″ TV for their second or third home, they can only eat “so much” steak, so I don’t see them offsetting the drop in beef sales from the vast majority of US consumers that are being forced to go to chicken, pork, spam, etc.. JMHO, but again the charts hold a higher weighting IMO.

Hi Randy,
How should we play, or just stay away from positions where the government talks about manipulating the market? I was following /LE, hoping for a divergent high, but the current administration is talking about intervening in the to manipulate prices lower. It has worked in the last few days.

Should we just stay away from /LE and /GF in the short term? The president could just change his mind at any moment and prices could go right back up.
