This isn't your typical election, IMO. Two outright buffoons running for the highest office, both with potentially disastrous economic policies IMO & I would be surprised if the stock market doesn't reflect that as the election approaches.... not to mention the potential social unrest we might see, regardless of who gets elected.

Again, JMHO & I know how all the pundits love to say 'never short the market during an election year'. Me, I just go by what the charts say, not what the Trader's Almanac says might or probably will happen.

Well, I just saw this question of yours as I was pulling up this post to make an update. The $SPX & $NDX danced on those support levels for a while but went on to take them out.

If they can pull a stick save & get back above those supports by the close (or later tonight/early tmrw) then about 5600-5610 would be the minimum target on /ES with the potential for a move back up to & even beyond the top of the recent trading range (as today's breakdown would then have proved to be a false breakdown/bear trap).

/NQ has that primary downtrend line off the highs as a potential target but again, as of now, they are both below support (along with QQQ & SPY) which are the next sell signals.

Looks like those minor support levels did not hold. Especially that 554 on the SPY which was good support over the last couple of weeks... I am glad I didn't go long. Hanging on to my PSQ short for now. However /ES just hit 5550 and trying to bounce.... will it stick?? divergent on the 15 min RSI, SPY is not though....

Thanks Randy, When short we need more help not less. Are we more likely to just keep falling. This is Sept in an election year.
