I use multiple brokers for several reasons, including but not limited to the fact that each has their own pros & cons as well as some nice features on their charting platforms. My primary trading account is at IB since they have the one of, if not, the lowest commission rates for active traders as well as the best inventory of stocks & ETFs available for shorting. However, I don't care for IB's charts & only use them occasionally.

Thanks for the info. Do you use multiple brokers or strictly IB?
Hoping my trial goes good. I want to learn how to do this so I can retire early.

Unfortunately, many of the mainstream brokers like TD Ameritrade, Fidelity & Schwab fairly often don't have an inventory of shares available to short for stocks that aren't widely held. I shorted ENPH in my trading account at Interactive Brokers & as of right now, they are indicating that they have "at least" 427k shares available for shorting. Over the years, IB has consistently had the best availability of shares to short on stocks & ETFs that other brokers have not.
I have several more short trade ideas as well as some longs that I may add as official or unofficial trade setups soon now that the FOMC meeting is behind us & I'll try to find some more individual tech & semiconductor-related stocks like ENPH that look to have a lot of thin air beneath them.
