No a short based on simply that information is Crazy. Using that information just because it's gone up so high it must go down. That's just not how it works. Think about it we've got trump coming back in. He'll be talking tax cuts for all. The market is going up assuming that.

I'd say if you short at the ATH, what's on your side is the tight stop loss, right? You at least know if you break above that ATH resistance thereby making a new ATH you can stop out at that level.

But just because you're at ATH doesn't mean you should short. You need sell signals and some other TA indicators to show you that selling pressure is right around the corner.

And sometimes, not often, and it may be rare ,but sometimes you may have to go with that gut intuition feeling. *shrug*'

If you're at ATH and your gut tells you to short with stops above, then do it.

OH -- PS. and IMO if you're several points away from ATH I wouldn't short, my preference if I short around ATH is to short practically with my nose rubbing ATH.

To put it into perspective if I shorted QQQ here at 437.75 with 100 shares I wouldn't risk more than $200 max. Usually my risk would be $100 on average.

Randy, is ATH a good short entry on the QQQ? I noted a Bull Pennant on the weekly chart earlier this month with a potential target of the Q’s hitting around 460-470 … you never responded. I’ll go out on a limb and call for a 10% overshoot on that 460 long before we see 400 again … QQQ 505 or bust! Sometimes sun rises can be confused as sunsets …

I covered in the mid-700s 2 days ago, I don't think randy did though. Starting to short again now, I only do like 2 shares at a time though. This POS might go to 1500 next week with the apes of wallstreetbets on it.

You only have yourself to blame for listening to randy. I'm being snarky because someone posted that to my earlier comment today.

Maybe it was you.

Randy is not giving this service for free, I guess you see no problem with the info being very poor for months to years on end.

"you had us make a round trip football in video before the close "

Randy didn't make you do anything. It was your choice whether to execute his trading plan/trading plan theory or not.

"Your graph showed it going for a A maximum of six ninety five and then a drop to Six hundred ten"

If you think you can chart & TA better then why don't you do it yourself and execute your trades on your own charting? Or are you just trying to copy-cat trade so he can do all the thinking for you? *shrug*
