In reply to <a href="https://rightsideofthechart.com/cl-uso-crude-oil-swing-trade-idea-6-24-26/#comment-39339">stevekille@netzero.net</a>.

FWIW, I took both but only relatively small, starter positions with room to add (or close them out, if I don't like what I see). One of my concerns is the elevated risk of a crash-type drop in the stock market, which could take just about everything with a ticker (other than inverse/short ETFs) down with it.

Bitcoin was a bubble that popped in early Oct. Silver was a bubble that popped at the end of Jan. AI & the semis are most likely next & depending on whether they crash or just correct, that will determine how the stock market & all the other sectors that the AI bubble has its tentacles intertwined in, including but not limited to private credit & the regional banks, will be affected.

Crude could continue to fall on demand destruction, should the market fall hard & fast (20%+), while the metals & miners could fall victim to margin-forced selling, along with a lot of other trades the retail crowd piled into over the past year or so.

thank you! I'm a little timid about GDX, but a starter position sounds good. I'm going to try the USO trade. I think oil will go higher, and I appreciate your analysis.
