So far, this bullish pennant has been textbook, with CHK consolidating on low volume within the pennant, then breaking to the upside on the high volume similar to the move leading up to the pennant formation. Although the pattern measures higher, I favor the first significant reaction around the 3.70 resistance level (daily chart) in which my first price target is placed just below.

In reply to Lisa Trading.

Glad to hear that Lisa. I get just as much value out of the forum from other traders & investors. For example, as soon as @vickthomas mentioned CHK in the trading room, I remembered it was on my radar recently, pulled up my chart (which was already annotated) and noticed that CHK had just taken out the key 3.03 resistance level as well as the short-term downtrend line. I must have neglected to set a price alert but thanks to Vick, I was able to get in right before that first big rip following the breakout. Can't declare victory yet, as I haven't sold but I should this one continue higher & play out, I would have missed an entry if it weren't for his mention of the stock. More eyes on the market translates to fewer missed opportunities.

<abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='You're welcome'>YW Lisa. Tried my best to get that chart & notes out asap as by the time I saw @vickthomas 's post, CHK had already just barely broken above the 3.03 breakpoint. CHK sat there for a bit, contemplating the breakout but right after I sent that post, it started moving up sharply on volume... so far a good sign. Taking a breather now but looks good as long as it holds above the 3.00 area. G-luck!
