Following the recent breakout above the downtrend line (first chart below from Aug 5th), AVD went on to take out T1 & hit T2, followed by a reaction off that resistance level so far
Keep in mind that AVD was/is an unofficial trade which means the price targets on my charts are the actual resistance levels. On official trades, such as CGA above, I will set the price target slightly below the actual resistance level(s) where a reaction is likely following the initial tag, as sometimes the sellers will step in early if they think too many eyes are targeting the same level. (AVD reversed 8 cents shy of the 15.53 resistance on Aug 7th.
As of now, I don’t like the fact that this pullback wasn’t contained around the 14.57 level which also comes in with the 200-day EMA. I’d also prefer to see more broad-based participation in the ag input sector so for now, I can’t make a strong case for a re-entry or add-on to AVD although the stock does have mild support around 14 which could provide an objective entry with a stop somewhat above (assuming it gets down there).
