Absolutely. There are countless tips for trading & investing floating around out there but I would say at the top of the list is 1) Have a plan before you enter a trade (i.e.- where & why you are entering & where you will exit, both if right or wrong) and 2) stick with that plan unless something clearly changes in the outlook for the trade.

That's why I'm a huge proponent of OCO/OCA (one-cancels-the-other or one-cancels-another) orders, particularly for those that either lack discipline, don't have patience or don't have the luxury or willingness to sit in front of a computer every day during trading hours. Set it & forget it: Either your profit target or your stop will be hit with the other order automatically cancelled. In the case of a long-term/trend trade like CCE, the only modification to the trading plan would have been to periodically raise or trail stops as the trade moved well above the original entry price.

Congrats for having the patience & foresight to hold out for T4. FWIW, you only left about 3% of gains on the table on a trade that you booked about 25% on so no big deal really.

Now I feel kinda bad for closing it out yesterday when it hit T4. But as it was my plan to do so from the beginning, I should feel good that my plan worked out and it stuck to it. Consistency is key in trading, right?
