/GC could easily make a backtest of 1488, which would offer another objective long entry as well as another test of the upper-most (minor) uptrend line on that 60-minute chart above. I’ve been highlighting that a break above 1488 would trigger the next buy signal/objective long entry in /GC for weeks now and leaning that way (see previous charts below.. although I posted them in reverse order by mistake). Today that buy signal was triggered with an impulsive breakout followed by a nearly perfect backtest & an even more impulsive rally following the backtest earlier today. While any breakout can fail, this one looks about as good as it gets (although I would deduct a few points for the fact it has taken place on X-mas eve, an abbreviated & typically low-volume trading session). USD looks very precarious indeed. Front running another Fed cut perhaps?
