Re: Puts, I agree about waiting for the downturn. But, I wanted to get familiar with the price action prior to it.

Although the $VIX won’t REALLY start to move higher until & unless the stock market starts clearly moving lower, especially if SPY, QQQ, & SOXX all fall back below the downtrend lines they took out on Thursday, I have recently noticed this 60m bullish falling wedge breakout & current backtest following the recent successful test & bounce off support with positive divergences on this 60m chart of /VIX (Oct VIX futures).

Good question but a multifaceted one that depends on which, if any, of certain events play out going forward. I’ll try to remember to included a brief discussion, along with the indexes & sectors that have the most downside (as well as upside, depending on which way the market goes from here) potential in one of the upcoming video.

Personally, I’m not interested in buying any puts on anything right now, at least not until & unless last Thursday’s downtrend line breakouts in the $SPX, $NDX, & SOXX all fail.
