Also, I see a previous descending A/B/C pattern looking similar to what could happen now in BA, but the current pattern has more green candles in the B leg than the previous one. Can that indicate a difference of future behavior for this pattern, or am I oversimplifying it?

It's interesting looking at the weekly volume on this BA chart. The week of Mar 11-18 had more than double the volume of any week I can find in history. After that week, the selling/buying continued, but the price hasn't really declined. @rsotc Can this price behavior indicate institutions are accumulating Boeing and its price will go back up after the supply is absorbed? Or is this just a bump in the road on the way further down?

Next week will probably give us a better answer. I'm remembering learning the concept of a selling climax from Randy months ago when USO was declining rapidly. Applying that concept to the BA chart, it looks like that climax may have happened. If that's not what you're seeing here, Randy, could you explain why it's irrelevant here. I'm trying to learn to do your style of analysis, learning the nuances that make or break an indicator like that. Stops are in place, so if they get hit no big deal, small and fast loss.

Funny story: Several days ago I was talking to an FAA guy and of course the subject of Boeing came up. He gave me an incredulous look followed by "You really are a risk taker, aren't you" when I mentioned I'd shorted BA. Hahha. We laughed and then I started worrying he might know what he was talking about :)

In reply to zivs.

The market likes to fool the masses & rarely will it put in a significant reversal (top or bottom) without convincing the vast majority that the prevailing trend still has more to go first.

Regarding BA, if the market cooperates (still a big IF) by starting a new major leg down anytime soon, the BA short could drop well beyond the 317ish target/support level. As such, I may add additional targets to this trade although unless the charts don't confirm it at the time, I would expect a decent reaction off the initial tag of the 317 level if BA heads there soon.

Pretty solid bear flag there. Been pointing this out to a friend for a while and I really should have taken some puts @ $380. Thanks for the follow-up, Randy. Hope you had a nice day off yesterday. Funny how we all started capitulating bullish and then the market begins to roll over with a pretty significant down day across the board. Your members are an amazing contrarian barometer.
