Oh don't get me wrong, AAPL is waaaaay overvalued. I was just making the point that India itself has potential in the longer run. Unlike Europe, Japan, the US, Russia, and China, they will have population growth in the coming decades. AAPL's sales have been good / growing in India but I would expect that growth to be overshadowed by slowing sales in China and the US.

Apple dominates phone market share in US which is, given, the most lucrative market, but that is an outlier. Android phones vastly dominate in India with Apple hardly registering.

Just like Apple has a strong-hold in US due to how iPhone users are largely (but not totally) 'forced' into their locked ecosystem for peripheral products, the same holds true for the dominance of Android phones in India & elsewhere around the world, especially with the consumer demographics in India & premium price point of Apple products relative to Android devices.

Google recently rolled out their answer to what is probably the single largest factor keeping iPhone users sticking with iPhones in the US.... Apple messages & how they intentionally refuse to work with Google to integrate the new RCS messaging protocol that they've recently rolled out for Android devices (every bit as good as Apple messages).

https://www.slashgear.com/990024/imessage-vs-rcs-the-big-differences-explained/

From what I understand, Google has decided to go around working with Apple to adopt/integrate the RCS protocol & instead has been making headway with getting the major carriers to get onboard with RCS, or something along those lines.

Just as many iPhone users stick with iPhones largely for iMessages, I would imaging that many Indians will continue to stick with Android phones going fwd as the RCS messaging platform becomes widely adopted, thereby creating a potential barrier for Apple in India & similar countries. JMHO

Exactly. Waiting to see how the Pixel 8 launch goes as according to Google's CEO: “2022's Pixel 6a, 7, and 7 Pro are the best-selling generation of phones” the company has ever launched. Pichai went on to note that Pixels “gained share in every market” Google operated in this year.

Seems AAPL continues their pattern of copying the innovative features that Android (Google) rolls out and Google finally doing what they should have done yrs ago... focus on making their own phones and accessories (watch, earbuds, tablet, etc..) with the pure & latest Android OS vs. the scattered OS tweaks needed for all the other Android phone manufacturers (Samsung et. al). Pixel 7 a great phone & the upcoming Pixel 8 has the potential to take a big bite out of market share from Apple IMO.Regardless, on watch for a break of the primary uptrend line on AAPL
